| Candice Bergen has made more than
thirty films, but is probably best known as “Murphy”
the role she played on the critically acclaimed CBS comedy “Murphy
Brown.” During the show’s ten-year run, Ms. Bergen received
five Emmy awards and two Golden Globe awards.
Daughter of the legendary ventriloquist Edgar Bergen, Ms. Bergen
combined a career in film with assignments as a photojournalist,
working for magazines including Life, New York and Esquire. Some
of her best-known movies include “Carnal Knowledge”,
“Rich and Famous”, “Ghandi” in which she
played the photographer Margaret Bourke-White and “Starting
Over” for which she was nominated for an Academy Award for
Best Supporting Actress. Recent films include “Miss Congeniality”,
“Sweet Home Alabama” and “The In-Laws.”
